How will you use my data?

Your data will be used to assist in providing you appropriate support. Where you have given us permission, we will share your details with Bridgend County Borough Citizens Advice (our Partners), to make a direct referral on your behalf to access their services. In some instances Bridgend County Borough Citizens Advice/we, may contact you to ask you for feedback on the service you received and whether this has helped resolve your support issue.

We also use anonymous data (with no personal details) to help us understand how different problems are affecting society and to take action to address these.

 

What kind of information do you record about me?

We record information about you and any support you request. Some information is personal, it could be used to identify you. This includes your name, date of birth, address, or phone number, and any details about the support you have requested. Some personal information may be sensitive, including things like your ethnicity or health.

 

Where will you store my data?

A record of your referral information will be stored securely in an electronic system accessed by Bridgend County Borough Citizens Advice. Paper copies of your data may also be stored securely and accessed by staff and volunteers of Bridgend County Borough Citizens Advice.

 

Who has access to the data?

We will not share information about your support request without your permission, unless required to do so by law. Where we share your personal information, we only share what is necessary, and we have agreements in place with our partners to ensure your data is protected.

With your consent, we will share personal information about your referral with our partners. To do this we need to share your contact information and details about the support you have requested. Some personal information may be sensitive, including things like your ethnicity or health.

Where you consent to a referral by us, our Partners will share limited data about you with us. This includes information about any support provided to you. Some of this information is personal, it could be used to identify you. This information is used for statistical monitoring and research purposes to help evidence impact of our services.

Bridgend Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust Foodbank Network. In certain circumstances we have a legitimate interest in sharing your personal information within the Trussell TrustFoodbank Network, for example where you receive a food parcel,for statistical, monitoring and research purposes. We have a data sharing agreement in place with Trussell Trust which sets out what information is shared, why and how we share the data. Can I withhold my consent?

Yes. Where you withhold your consent, we will provide you with signposting information of a general nature to enable you to access appropriate support. We will create an unnamed record of your enquiry for quality assurance and statistical monitoring purposes. We are unable to make a direct referral to our partners without your consent.

Our partners can also provide support but will need to create an unnamed record of your enquiry. A record is needed for quality assurance purposes. In these circumstances no personal information will be recorded, only what the enquiry was about.
